Main Responsibilities

Checking of Picked Consignments

  • Check product/QTY according to CBI Invoice
  • Errors to be recorded on picking error sheet
  • Checker details to be recorded on CBI Invoice
  • Products to be visually checked for any defects

Packing of Checked Consignments

  • Products to be packed in a manner that will prevent any damage
  • Products to be packed neatly and in a manner that will positively represent the CBI brand
  • Consignment to be secured with CBI Tape and Security seals to prevent tampering

Handing Over of Stock to Courier

  • Ensure the right invoice is placed on the right consignment
  • Ensure that all consignments are labelled and signed for by courier in-house

Main Responsibilities

  • To administer the current Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes in a controlled and efficient manner.
  • To allocate Bill of Material numbers according to a defined procedure.
  • To process Product Deviations according to a defined procedure.
  • To maintain hardcopy filing systems and/or digital databases in support of the above processes and procedures.
  • To provide status updates on ECPs and ECNs both verbally and in written reports where required.
  • To facilitate and expedite Digital Transformation within the Configuration Management environment

 

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • A basic Information Technology or Technical qualification.

Advantageous

  • Previous exposure to the application of Configuration Management in a technical environment.

This position reports to: Head of Mechanical Design

 

 

Main Responsibilities

The work and responsibilities associated with the position may involve inter alia the various engineering disciplines employed to test and document designs of circuit breakers, earth leakage devices and related electrical protection and metering products:

  • Test and evaluate precision mechanical and electro-mechanical products, subsystems or components.
  • Execution of work is to be performed on Computer Aided Design software. Siemens NX and SolidWorks.
  • Drafting of components, sub-assemblies, assemblies and material specifications.
  • Participate in failure diagnostics processes as required for customer and product support.
  • Analysis of test results and where necessary failure analysis.
  • Applying best practice methods and procedures for testing mechanical components or sub-systems.
  • General understanding of the manufacturing and production processes.
  • Application of measurement uncertainty calculations where appropriate or required.
  • Establish best methods, practices and processes required to achieve the required reproducibility and repeatability in manufacturing CBI products.
  • Responsible for regular maintenance and technical audit inspections of equipment and facilities used in the department.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • B Tech. (Mechanical ) or better
  • Ideally the incumbent will have 3-year experience in a technical area
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems is advantageous

Advantageous:

  • Knowledgeable in the safe use of mechanical and/or electrical equipment or systems
  • Familiar with the principles and discipline of project management

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist Design Engineering with the following tasks related to electrical and electronic design of products and in-house equipment
  • Drafting schematics and PCB layouts in CAD
  • Specify and order components for a Bill of Materials
  • Solder and assemble (through hole and SMT)
  • Test, fault find and repair
  • Program and debug embedded microcontrollers

Main Responsibilities

  • To reject manufactured components that does not conform to quality standards
  • Maintain quality documentation
  • Ensure that quality standards are maintained
  • Use of quality standards & procedures
  • Authorised to accept/reject components
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Safe keeping of CBI property within area of responsibility
  • Perform inspections, specified by Inspection Instructions, inspection aids and drawings
  • Inspect & approve/reject all manufactured components
  • Ensure the following administrative functions
  • Recording of all inspection verification checks (manual or automated)
  • Ensure appropriate test status labels are in place for traceability
  • Enforce compliance with the company’s housekeeping procedures
  • Ensure storage of equipment and tools, comply with procedure
  • Adhere to all security procedures and rules

 

Minimum Requirement

  •  Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
  •  Quality Controller Certificate will be added advantage
  • Previous experience as a Quality Controller

Physical Receiving

  • Ensure that physical stock received is in a good condition and ties back to the documentation
  • Off load vehicles as quickly and safely as possible without compromising the cargo
  • Correct handover of QC sample stock to the customer service department

 

System Receiving

  • Timeous booking of all received shipments
  • Ensure shipments are accurately booked
  • All variances to be reported immediately
  • All audit trails to be kept with their corresponding shipments

Put-away

  • Adhere to all OHS Act rules and regulations
  • Ensure cargo is put-away quickly and safely and correctly

Housekeeping

  • Ensure housekeeping rules are adhered to during the put-away of stock

This position reports to: Springs Foreman

The purpose: Receive Production plan, WIP, orders from Foreman/Planner and provide supervision at Springs department. 

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage resources & efficiency of the Springs department.
  • Enforce compliance with all applicable rules and regulations in the department
  • Ensure correct slide & gauges are available or Program for CNC machine.
  • Ensure drawings & inspection instructions are of the latest approved revision.
  • Identify correct machine for compression component being manufactured.
  • Prepare and set machine for new production run
  • Prepare for first batch of components
  • Follow QC procedure on 1st off production
  • Separate first-off and retain as sample for production run & operator guide
  • Record measurements & sign off schedule with Operator.
  • Monitor Operator to ensure he/she understands all instructions
  • Ensure all instruments are calibrated
  • Communicate with QC on status of gauges
  • Ensure maintenance carries out lubrication

 

Minimum Requirement

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
  • Qualified Fitter and Turner or Toolmaker Qualification
  • Spring making experience
  • Computer literate
